Decans of Scorpio

0-9 Degrees (October 22 - November 1) - 5 of Cups (King’s Realm) Disappointment - Under Mars’ Influence

The five in tarot always feels like too much and with the double rule of Mars this leads to insatiable desire. This is the need that can be fed constantly but finds no pleasure of fulfillment; forever chasing, always wanting. There is too much heat and it feels like the water has dried up in our mouths. This decan is often connected to unfulfilled sexual desire that is emotionally disrupting, but this can be anything we feel as a carnal need. This pushes us forward to an emotional realization that occurs in the next decan.

10-19 Degrees (November 2 - November 11) - 6 of Cups (King’s Realm) Pleasure - Under Sun’s Influence

The sixes in tarot fall at the center of the fixed signs and indicate a cresting point that is hit because of a truly fixed aspect of reality. Here the Sun shines its light on a change that occurs due to fixed emotion in a way that brings a release. Emotive pursuits have come to fulfillment and there is connection and pleasure. With this comes an awareness of the paths of life closing in and one way forward becoming clear. There is something that we must let go of emotionally as the truth is revealed.

20-29 Degrees (November 12- November 21) - 7 of Cups (Knight’s Realm) Debauch - Under Venus’ Influence

The seven in tarot comes along with a temporary fulfillment that pulls us back to the truth of the sixth decan. Emotionally this is often connected to the “little death” of the orgasm which coincides with the Mars-Venus rulership. Debauchery rules the land and there is intoxicating pleasure, but there is no true completion of a cycle in a fixed sign. Beware of getting lost in the illusions of success, the seven is temporary in nature and the true work lies ahead. On the earthly plane there is a transition as we move into the time of death and the living no longer reign.
