Ruled by Mercury

Virgo is ruled by Mercury in its direct manifestation, making the sign extremely critical and logical. Virgos tend to see things from a rational perspective that is intellectual and constructive in application. Virgo knows what they want to do and how they want to do it. Virgo placements have the ability to work out the meticulous details of a problem and use common sense to come to a working solution.

Modality and Element - Mutable Earth

Mutable signs are adaptable. These are the seasons where the weather is starting to turn and change is on the horizon. Virgo is versatile, resourceful, and sympathetic. As an Earth sign Virgo manifests in practical and physical ways, often inspiring change in their physical environment. As we can feel the seasons begin to change around us our focus moves from the lazy days of summer to the duties that will come with the fall harvest.

Lives in the 6th House

Virgo’s natural home is the sixth house. This is the house of our daily routine. Where the work we do; as well as our diet, exercise, and health treatments is indicated. This is less connected to the physical body, found in our first house, and more with the choices and routine that we adopt over our lives. Because of the drastic impact on our daily existence, difficult placements or transits in the sixth house can indicate significant health issues.

Tarot - The Hermit

Each tarot card has an astrological association that can deepen our understanding of how the sign manifests and provide insight to tarot divination. The Hermit brings a message - Know Thyself. That doesn’t just mean our mental being, but incorporates our physical and spiritual being also. Through solitude and introspection we find the illumination of truth.
