Ex-Smoker is the smoking blend that I and a number of people have used to aid in smoking cessation. You will have to roll your own cigarettes from this nicotine free herbal blend. It has stuff to help you cack up the crud from your lungs, satisfy the nicotine "jones" and mellow out the "bitchies." I do recommend using it as part of your program. For inspiration on how to create your own program, see my article How I Quit Smoking with Herbs, Substitutive Behavioral Modification and Magick.

Ex-Smoker contains a good amount of Lobelia (Lobelia inflata) a native flowering herb that contains the alkaloid compound lobeline. Lobeline is similar in structure to nicotine, so the theory is that it fits into the receptor sites in your brain that usually accept nicotine. It satisfies the craving, but is dissimilar to nicotine enough that it does not continue the addiction. This theory is not uncontested in the literature on smoking cessation, but my personal experience agrees with it. Lobelia is also traditionally used for a number of lung ailments, including asthma, and it is used as a general antispasmodic, which if you are quitting smoking, might be a very good thing to consider.

Other ingredients include Skullcap which is often in relaxing and nerve tonic teas. It really helps with mood and attitude in my experience, and it is often included in many herbal tea formulation as a nervous system tonic, so you see why it might be beneficial for a new Ex-Smoker.

One thing I totally recommend against is the use of nicotine-containing products to get over your addiction to nicotine. Nicotine IS the addictive substance, and any use of it continues the addiction. So spare yourself that torture, please!

I craft this smoking blend ritually, so Ex-Smoker is made on Wednesdays in the Waning Moon. Wednesday is ruled by the planet Mercury, which as to do with discipline and self-improvement. The Waning Moon is the time for banishing, diminishing, and getting rid of.

This smoking blend is a bit heavy, and after smoking it for a week or two, you will probably feel like it is too much, and you will want to stop using it. Ooops, congratulations, you may have quit smoking! Remember, it just keeps getting easier. READ THE ARTICLE and best of luck!

THIS is how I quit after 20 years of smoking!

I smoked for nearly 20 years, a few cigarettes every day, and switched to vaping a few years ago. I was every bit as addicted to vaping as I was to cigarettes. I purchased this Blend at our local shop, Yarrow and Sage, and filled RAW pre-rolled papers and tried it out. The rest is actual history. After two or three weeks, I was free from nicotine! I have a supply of the blend and papers, just in case of a party atmosphere which definitely tempts me, but I haven't smoked or vaped in over two years. Your magical intention if effective! THANK YOU!

You helped me

I have been meaning to write you now for some time.
I was your first international customer.....from Canada.
I just wanted to thank you so much for your write up on how you stopped smoking.
I could truly relate to the visuals you described.
I have now been a non smoker for a month and a half.
I really did enjoy smoking ....BUT.....it was harming me and it was time face that fact and do something positive about it.
Your write up gave me the courage to honor myself and release all that did not serve my highest good.
I just wanted to share that with you and tell you that your article truly helped someone.......me.

15 days without a cig!

I really like the ex-smoker blend. I had already quit for about a week when I received it, I wish I would have found it on the web in time to order for my quit date. It has really helped me get through my first bon fire and drinking get together without a cig. I really only smoke about 1 ex-smoker a day right now and its just good to know there is something to smoke when I am really craving a cig. I also liked what you wrote about the effigy, I may try that. I had smoked for 20 years and quitting is one of the hardest things I have done, I still want to smoke everyday but I haven't so far for 15 days.
